Scene: An upscale restaurant in New York City. Four well dressed gentlemen dining in a private room – a monthly ritual for longer than any of them care to remember.
Ace of Cups: Gentlemen, we meet once again. How have you all been doing?
Ace of Wands: Aside from having to work with that darn Magician on one of his off days, I have been doing fine. (Sighs, drinks deeply from the amber liquid in his glass.)
Ace of Swords (laughing uproariously): Better you than me! The Magician on a bad day – worse than the Hanged Man! One step forward, two steps back. He can never quite decide how to use his power, or where to use it. No clarity whatsoever! For heaven’s sake – what does he think we are here for!
Ace of Coins: Swords, I completely agree! Remember the new moon when you and I were working with him on bringing in a new home for that young couple?
Ace of Swords: Do I ever! There was no agreement on what kind of house they wanted, where they wanted to live, what they wanted the down payment to be. Then there was the financing … they had no clue! What a fiasco! The house they ended up with … well, it gave new meaning to “fixer upper”!
Ace of Cups: I think you said something important there, Swords. It may not have been the Magician’s fault at all. Watching from the sidelines, as it were, he appeared to be trying very hard. The problem was with the young couple – their intent was not focused.
Ace of Coins: You may have something there, Cups. When the intent of the individual or group that is calling on us is not focused, then it is harder for us to work with our energy. And the poor Archetypes – they often end up working with the negative side of their abilities.
Ace of Swords: Speaking about the negative side of their abilities – there was that time that all four of us were called on to work with the Fool – the intent and focus was so poor that the Fool ended up in his cups – no insult intended, Cups.
Ace of Cups (waving his hand): None taken, Swords. The Fool was indeed in his cups for most of the time we were working with him on that one. Can’t really blame him.
Ace of Coins: Are we ready to order, gentlemen?
For reference purposes, I am using the “Tarot Lovers Tarot”, by Karyn Easton. This little conversation is simply meant to be a bit of fun, and to see what these cards might have to say, were they to sit down over a nice lunch. ;-)
